Hydro-electric Generation
The Power Department has given top priority to the
Generation Schemes to make up the peak demand
shortfalls. As a policy matter the Department has
taken up many generation schemes under short-term and
long-term measures.
Hydro Generation :
The hydro potential of Manipur, assessed at
60% Load Factor by the Department, is 1350
MW. However it could not be harnessed fully
due to paucity of fund. The hydel projects
already constructed in the state under the
Central Sector and State Sector are tabulated
below.
